The humanitarian system has a proven ability to produce innovations, but it does so sporadically and often struggles to take good ideas to scale.

Considerable variance can be seen in levels of innovation investment and the quality of innovation management. Consequently, the number of landmark innovations that have been integrated into the system has been frustratingly low, and understanding of best practice remains limited. This panel will look at the evolution of innovation in humanitarian aid and ask critical questions about the process of embedding innovation in humanitarian thinking: What does successful innovation look like? How is it achieved? What can organisations, and the system as a whole, do to support greater innovation?
